Entry #4 The sand tiger shark

The sand tiger shark (Carcharias taurus) is part of the Odontaspididae family.  They are called Carchariidae, gray nurse shark, and sand tiger. There are three species of sand shark: Sand tiger shark, smalltooth sand tiger shark, and bigeye sand shark.

 The sand tiger shark is found in the northwestern and the east-central Atlantic Ocean. The smallmouth sand tiger shark is found in the Indian and Pacific oceans and the bigeye sand tiger shark can be found in the west-central Atlantic Ocean. This species of shark is known for their pointed snout and larger mouth full of teeth, their front row of teeth are large and sharp then slightly decreasing in size towards the back rows of their teeth.

The sand tiger shark has 5 gills on each of their sides but the slits do not go up to their head. Sand tiger sharks are large with stocky bodies that range in length from about 2.25 meters (7.4 feet) in C. taurus to 3.6 meters (11.8 feet) in smalltooth sand tiger sharks; however, larger smalltooth sand tiger sharks measuring up to 4.5 meters (14.8 feet) in length and weighing 289 kg (637 pounds) have been reported.  This species of shark does not have frontal spines on their dorsal fins, unlike some species of sharks. The bigeye sand tiger shark stands out from the other two species due to its darker coloration and large eyes, which lack nictitating membranes. The smalltooth sand tiger shark stands out by having larger dorsal fins that are placed further back.

    Seems you are very interested in marine life. Made me feel like I was in a mini shark week. Sharks have always terrified me just a little bit due to their predator instincts. With that being, said they are predators and should be respected and admired from afar. However, if there weren't researches who did not love this beautiful creatures, we would never know about their behaviors. Even though I do have a health fear of them I would definitely like to swim be in a cage with some great white sharks. It is on my bucketlist!

    I loved the information of sharks! It is awesome to focus on one specific shark and would be cool to learn how their feeding habits attribute to their crazy swimming patterns. There are some awesome shark tracking apps out there!

Reviewing two blogs. ENG102 25650

In my review of two blogs today, I encountered one that I found particularly engaging and another that did not stand out as much. I assessed the blogs based on their organization and formatting, the author's purpose, and the use of visual aids.   The blog   HOW THESE VETERANS ARE PROVING HIP-HOP HAS NO AGE LIMIT  explores the ageless nature of hip-hop, not only through the author's perspective and supporting facts but also by incorporating viewpoints from various artists. I appreciate how well-organized the blog is, both structurally and in terms of formatting creating a professional yet approachable tone enhanced by relevant images and quotes. These elements contribute to a compelling and engaging read. The author engages readers by featuring artists who support the central theme.
