Entry #2 Mac Miller's impact he made.

Malcom McCormick was born on January 19, 1992, and is known globally as Mac Miller. Mac had a career that touched the lives of millions. He wasn’t just another rapper but an artist who blurred the lines between genres, creating something personal and raw. To his fans, Mac was more than a performer, he was a poet, a friend, and a symbol of openness. His music reflected his life, its highs and lows, and resonated deeply with anyone who heard it. Tragically, Mac passed away in 2018 from an accidental overdose, but his impact on music and culture remains strong, shaping the sounds and feelings of today’s generation.

Mac Miller released 24 albums during his lifetime, with his first project, My Mackin’ Ain’t Easy, a 2007 collaboration with his brother’s best friend, Beedie. This was Mac Millers' first project, but not his first album that is "Balloonersim" It wasn’t until 2009 that Malcolm adopted the name "Mac Miller," marking the start of his solo career. The same year, he released two albums "The Jukebox: Prelude to Class Clowns" and "The High Life". In 2010, Mac dropped one of his most well-known projects and one of my personal favorites "K.I.D.S." Miller won 21 & Under of the Year at the 2010 Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards; his video for “Live Free” won Best Hip Hop Video.

In 2011, Mac Miller released five projects: Best Day Ever, On and On and Beyond, I Love Life, Thank You, Blue Slide Park, and Black Friday. Then, in 2012, he dropped one of his best albums in my opinion, Macadelic. This album takes listeners on an emotional journey, blending moments of deep reflection with lighthearted humor. It’s one of his most raw and real works, capable of making you laugh and cry in the same breath.

In 2013, Mac Miller created some of his best work, releasing Live from LondonWatching Movies with the Sound Off, and Live from Space. After 2013, Mac shifted to releasing one album per year. In 2014, he dropped Faces, an album that's a must-listen if you haven’t heard it yet, though to be fair, all of his work is amazing.

In 2015, Mac Miller released my favorite album, GO:OO AM. In this project, Mac opens up about his struggles, expressing himself with raw honesty. The last two albums he released before his passing were The Divine Feminine and Swimming. After his death, two albums were released followed: Circles and Spotify Singles.
